Hunting Alone Straight into Terror

There she was.Ivorypaw.Sitting alone in the medicine cat den all alone.The lonesome She-cat was wathching kits play happily with each other.Then she saw one kit creeping around and pouncing on his litter mates.That reminded her of hunting for food and she was starving.Her clan mates were all settled and sharing tounges,so she could go hunting.It also looked as if her mentor was sleeping.She picked up her body and streatched.Then headed out of camp.

She headed somewhere near the training hollow.She scented out a magpie...and another strange scent,but she kept her mind on the magpie.She crouched,took a few steps forward,and pounced.She was surprised she caught it for herself being a medicine cat apprentice.The strange scent was getting closer.She tried to ignore it.So she turned her back on the smell.Then,all the sudden a creature puonced on her!She spun around to see it was a kittypet!She wailed in pain as it slashed its unsheathed claws across face.She fought back by flipping the tom over and slashing into its soft belly flesh.He was older and stronger than Ivorypaw,so he started ripping into my flesh and tearing off bloody clumps of my fur.With all my strength i thrust my head out and tore his ear apart.It must have really hurt bucause he ran off wailing like a tiny kit.Looks like i have won the battle.The spot where i was standing weakly at,was soaked with blood.Then she collapsed down after stepping at least four feet,hoping help would come.

Ivorypaw woke from her sleep to get at least some energy back."ohhhh!That stupid kitty pet!What a piece of fox dung!if we ever cross paths again i'll-"She was enterupted by moaning and wailing coming from far behind her.She followed the noise and it let straight to the kittypet tom that attacked her."I would leave you here to die in agonizing pain,but...If i heal you it would help my medicine cat skills.So it wouldnt be be breaking the rules complety."She explainned to the blood soaked tom."Why would...you help me...after what i did?"He said,stoping to take breaths."Because i know you were just defending your territory and you did not know me at all."She said to the big brown tabby tom.Then she sprinted off to find medicine.

She returned with her mouth full."Ok.I got horsetail to help with infection,because they look infected.I also got poppy seeds to help ease pain.And i got cobwebs to help stop the bleeding."She said while applying the medicine."Wow your a really good...what are they?oh!medicine cat."He complemented."Ok i will stay here with you to make sure your ok.But!We cant let my clanmates see!"Warned Ivorypaw.

With lightning speed, the spotted femme followed the apprentice as she saw her emerge from the medicine cat den with a mouth full of herbs. It wasn't a challenge to her at all, seeing as the young she-cat had stepped on every possible branch and twig in the forest. She'd better not be breaking the warrior code. The lithe warrior did not have any feelings towards Ivorypaw, but nor did she like her clanmates breaking the warrior code, neither was she willing to risk exposing the medicine cat apprentice to Silverclaw after she found out the overthrowing of the Clan they were staging.

Very soon, she saw Ivorypaw come out to a clearing, on which a large tom with an obviously detectable scent of kittypet was lying, covered in gashes and bites. As the she-cat sat down beside him and started applying various poultices to the kittypet's wounds, Cheetahwind slashed her tail in frustration and stepped out of the shadows. "And what do we have here, Ivorypaw? You breaking the warrior code and healing a kittypet, as I see. Nightwind would not be pleased to hear this, and I don't think Silverclaw will, either. What do you have to say in your defense?" The femme hissed, her eyes glinting. Ivorypaw knew she was breaking the warrior code, and went for it to help some filthy kittypet! The least the femme could do now was punish Ivorypaw and dispose of the tom.

The cream she -cat thrust her head up to stare into Cheetahwinds eyes with anger."Let me do my work!And im healing him because it would help my medicine cat skills you...you...stupid pice of fox dung!Now leave."She ended peacefully to the spotted she-cat.She was surprised she could stand up for herself against Cheetahwind.She was always so scared of her.Ivorypaw kept applying hertbs to the tom right in front of Cheetahwind."And remember,i can give you wounds this bad someday,and i could help heal you someday too."She said,narrowing her eyes at Cheetahwind.

"Dear Ivorypaw, I think it is time to remind you that just because I am feeling merciful, you are not to test my temper to this extent. You surely might be the greatest warrior someday, but even you are forced to admit that day is still far away." Cheetahwind meowed, calm on the outside but truly menacing to those who knew her. "Your desire to heal is amazing, but you are not to heal this intruder. You defended your territory, doing the right thing, and I give you credit for that. But healing this filthy kittypet is against everything NightClan is." She pushed herself slowly, her amazingly fast paws propelling her to stand a tail length beside the apprentice.

"When the Clan will fall under my leadership, you will quickly learn to obey my every order, as you will fear the punishment I give." The spotted femme sat down beside Ivorypaw, through ready to attack or defend at any second. "I will not attack you, as that will displeasure Nightwind, but I have all rights to attack this kittypet. I am giving you a warning, Ivorypaw. In the state the tom is in, it will take me two seconds to kill him. Five if you try to defend him, in which case I will be forced to attack you to get you off my path. But, it will not happen if this is out of NightClan territory in the next ten seconds. But you are not to give him herbs, or follow. I am counting." Cheetahwind smiled, waiting for Ivorypaw to obey or try to attack, in which case she would simply kill the kittypet and get Ivorypaw properly punished.

Ivorypaw glanced at Cheetahwind,her words reeling in her head,and then looked back into the toms frieghtened eyes.Then said,"I will be right back,Dont harm him Cheetahwind."And went to the the med cat den.

When she came back,She was holding scarlet red berries carefully.Deathberreis they were.She sat down by the tom and bagan speaking,"Ok.Eat these and you'll be healed compleatly.After this you'll be let go...into a world of pain and surrering!"She yelled at the tom,shoving the berries in his mouth.

He began shaking and foaming from the mouth,his eyes wide with pain and fear."Are you happy now Cheetahwind?It even felt good for me."She said with a wild, bloodthirsty gaze in her eyes.Then the tom was still.He was now dead.

Shallowheart watched from behind a tree, imensely amused as the youn apprentice gave the dum kittypet the deathbrries. Interesting... he thought quietly. Slowly, he padded out from behind and nodded to the two cats. "Very interesting... very... Fine day to be killling, neh Ivorypaw?"
He appraised the young cats murderous eyes, and chuckled. "How you ever became the medicine cat's apprentice is always going to be a mystery!"
He turned to look at Cheetahwind. "Already telling Ivory of your plans?"

Ivorypaw swung her head up to look at her deputy,the ambition fading from her eyes to respect.She left the body of the kittypet and stood up to bow her head to her deputy."Im sorry Shallowheart.I didnt want to break the warrior code i was just..."She trailed off,sticking her nose into Shallowhearts fur.She was crying very lightly.Then she said,"Please dont tell Silverclaw.He will be so mad.I dont know what took over me!"She looked up at him with sorrow in her eyes.Then she laid down and burried her head in her paws,thinking of how he knew about Cheetahwinds plan.

Shallow was a bit disgusted by this display. "What are you, a kit?" Gowsh! What is wrong with these cats?! "And why would I tell Silverclaw of your... deed when I don't care a bit. It actually works quite well, right Cheetahwind?"
